Updates on Maintenance Division Part-Time Regular Settlement Payments
By this time, most eligible recipients of the Maintenance Craft Part-Time Regular (PTR) settlement distribution have received their first payments, totaling over $10 million. However, some Employee Identification Numbers (EINs) were rejected because they were unable to match them to Social Security numbers.

Maintenance Craft In-Service Open Season March 1-31, 2025
From March 1-31, ALL career employees may request to be tested for Maintenance Craft eligibility ratings and placement on In-Service Registers. In March, career employees already on the In-Service Register can submit a written request to remain on those registers and avoid the annual purge that occurs on April 1.

Maintenance Part-Time Regular Payout Update (February 2025)
As of Jan. 30, 2025, nine hundred and fifty (950) Part-Time Regular (PTR) Maintenance Craft employees have received their share of the PTR settlement over the past two pay periods. The amount received per person ranges from a maximum of $10,480 to a minimum of $100 based on the days served as a PTR.

Postal Service Implements Eagle Clean (e4776) Pilot
The Postal Service formally notified the APWU on June 20, 2024, that they believed the Eagle Clean (e4776) pilot program was a success and they would begin implementing Eagle Clean across the country.

Successful Maintenance Craft Conference in 2023

We successfully completed the 2023 APWU All-Craft Conference in Las Vegas, NV. The Maintenance Craft Conference started on Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, and lasted for three days. The Saturday before the conference, we attended the Maintenance Council meetings. The conference started with a general session on Monday, Oct.

The Clerk and Motor Vehicle Service Divisions began the week with training workshops to educate members on issues including: Steward training, local leadership, RI-399, and POStPlan.

PER DIEM UPDATE – EFFECTIVE DATE NOVEMBER 7, 2022

After meeting with the Postal Service again and scheduling an NCED site visit, we can announce that the implementation date of the per diem MOU is November 7, 2022 and will be piloted for three years for all Crafts.
The current GSA rates control the per diem amount, currently at $59.
